Luftkriegsschule Introduction

The purpose of the Luftkriegschule is to train our new  pilots by preparing them with the skills needed for their virtual career with JG53. The Flieger Kadette will follow a set training scheme with the assistance of the instructors who will allow them to acquire the basics of piloting , teamwork and combat.

The Luftkriegscule will give the Kadettes the advantage of being integrated quickly into our group, giving them the necessary minimum to join us at the time of our operational missions and thus to avoid exposing an inexperienced, new or otherwise unfamiliar pilot to the rigour of the campaign

Every new pilot must successfully complete the Basic Pilot's School before being promoted to the rank of Gefreiter and joining one of the main Staffels. This course is designed for brand new pilots to the simulation and as such covers a lot of ground to give the pilot a basic knowledge in all areas of operations, tactics and procedures.
Once a pilot has successfully completed the Basic Pilot's School he may then chose to enlist in additional advanced specialism course on one of the aircraft we fly operationally. See the organisation chart for more information on the different sections in the group.

This period with the luftkriegschule is also a trial period, this determines if the group is right for the pilot and if the pilot is right for the group. In rare occasions where a pilot is not able to integrate with the group the pilots membership will be evaluated at this stage with the possibility of rejection from the Gruppe.

Once the Kadette finishes his basic training, the new arrival receives his Pilot wings and will be integrated into one of the main Staffels of the group. The pilot will then be promoted to Gefreiter and commences his active service within his virtual career, with the possibilities of going up in rank and also receiving decorations according to his combat results and teamwork focus.
